VERITAS Backup Exec 9.1 for Windows Servers is the next generation backup and restore solution providing certified, comprehensive, cost effective protection for Microsoft Windows server environments. Backup Exec 9.1 software increases application availability while simultaneously improving backup performance. The graphical user interface consolidates product operations within a browser-like view and offers an alternate true web-based administration console for Microsoft Windows 2003 Server and NAS appliances running Microsoft Storage Server 2003. Easy-to-use wizards simplify data protection and recovery procedures for any level user and any size network. Combined with a complete family of high performance agents and options, Backup Exec offers the ease of use and flexibility to quickly protect desktop, laptop and server data. Fast, flexible technology to protect vital Exchange Server 5.5, 2000 and 2003 data while the application is online. This agent provides full or incremental, or differential backup and restores of all critical Exchange Server components including the entire datastore, individual storage groups and log files, as well as all Outlook components, such as individual mailboxes, individual public folders, individual messages, and their embedded objects and attributes. Using the Single Instance Storage feature eliminates backup of duplicate information by storing only the first instance of attachments distributed to multiple mailboxes. The agent for Exchange also enables automatic recreation of a mailbox and user accounts during restore - allowing administrators to easily manage backup and expedite recovery of data, while consuming less network, system and media resources. When running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003, the Backup Exec Agent for Exchange Server has added support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Volume Snapshot (VSS) technology enabling the user to select either the VERITAS or the Microsoft proprietary frozen image technology for protecting open files.
